The Yoga Therapy Process
What I offer

What to expect
The yoga therapy process begins with a free open conversation (usually a phone call) to gather some initial information to decide whether it can best help you manage a particular health issue, lifestyle difficulty or adjustment moving forwards.
Upon completion of booking, we will meet for an initial 90-minute consultation that will include identification of your current health needs based on gathering information from initial booking. Assessments typically include observation of breathing quality, postural alignment and movement management. All sessions are uniquely co-created for you in mind.

Often Yoga therapy will base assessment using the kosha model. Kosha means sheath or layer and considers the physical, energetic, mental, emotional, wisdom and bliss bodies that essentially make us who we are. These layers make up part of a whole, which means they are all integrated as dis-ease will affect all parts of us. For example, a physical illness can affect how we feel mentally and vice versa, with a mental illness affecting how we feel physically.
Together we will explore practices that meet your specific health needs and aspirations which could include movement and postural work, breath work, relaxations and meditations.
Follow on sessions are 60 minutes and it is usually recommended that you have at least 6 sessions to allow for time to explore your health needs in more depth, whilst also building a practice that helps initiate the changes that you wish to see. However, this is entirely up to you, and you may wish to try a session and work from there or try as a one off.
